- Face-to-face self help groups
- Telephone
- Online via the Internet (mc2)
Who can use Peer Support?
Anybody with MS or someone caring for someone with MS who feels they would benefit from the service.
Is the service confidential?
Yes. Your information will not be disclosed to anyone without your consent.
How can talking to someone else help?
It often helps to talk to someone if you:
- Feel no-one really understands your situation or what it is like to live with MS
- Have recently been diagnosed with MS and feel apprehensive and isolated
- Have difficulty getting out and about but would like to have contact with others
- Would like to be linked with someone in similar circumstances
Face-to-Face Self Help Groups
The Peer Support Program can arrange mutual support meetings of small groups of people, facilitated by trained Peer Support Workers.
Telephone Support
The telephone support service matches people with individual Peer Support Workers.
Online Communities
The Peer Support Program also has an online community on My Connected Community (mc2). The online community has a bulletin board (or forum) and a chat room which you can use to take part in discussions. Click on our Online Community section for more detail.
