"Love life"
During 2003 Kristina McMennemin was engaged to be married, an award winning team leader working as an Assistant Gaming Manager at Melbourne's Hilton Hotel and positively had the world at her feet. During a regular night shift, Kristina found herself consoling a staff member who was terribly upset following the diagnosis of a family member with Multiple sclerosis - the most common chronic neurological disease of the 20-50 age-group.

Shortly afterwards this sensitive woman experienced tingling sensations in her leg and generally just didn't feel right. A visit to her local doctor with the assumption of a pinched nerve in her back, quickly moved in the direction of a neurologist, followed by an MRI and a definite diagnosis of multiple sclerosis - (already mentioned above) Time stood still and Kristina recalls not hearing anything else during the consultation.
Turning to her loving family for support and wading in angry tears, and feeling betrayed by her own body, this self motivated women who finds a positive in every situation, has never shed a tear since!
Sensory symptoms resolved and life moved on with Kristina focusing on stopping the progression of this disease as best she can with increased knowledge, exercise and natural and traditional medicine. "I should have read more books for the MS Readathon" was a natural regret for this passionate individual who believes life is too short , and ultimately we all create our own destiny.
This self motivated strong woman believe also our thoughts over power our actions and behaviours and continued to pursue her brilliant career and currently thriving in an exciting event management position.
The MS Ambassador Program is delighted to have Kristina as a member of our team and MS Australia - ACT/NSW/VIC highly recommends MS Ambassador Kristina as an ambitious, self motivated and effervescent young woman, who will engage you from the first syllable, as she shares with you, why she passionately believes life is a gift.
