Relief and grief surrounded final closure of a ten-year challenge of uncertainty which resulted in my diagnosis of the most common chronic neurological disease of the twenty to fifty age group - multiple sclerosis.

A busy wife, mother, and previously a registered nurse, committee member, charity worker and a hectic social life were the order of the day in this delightful lady's life. A diagnosis of MS occasionally attempts to disrupt this vital woman from the more important things in life - her devoted husband, sons, granddaughter, family and friends.
Unpredictability is top of the agenda in this challenging neurological environment. Jan reviewed her prospects - emotionally, socially and intellectually from the beginning of this life long journey.
Taking control of the fear in spite of at times total sensory deprivation brought to reveal this stoic woman's determined nature, to never give in and never give up and search for alternatives, which she now calls her life management.
Jan's destiny took a new and challenging turn to teaching and designing quilts. A renowned international award winner as a textile artist has turned life full circle. As a Textile Artist/Quilt-maker and Teacher Jan travels and shares her passion amongst the Textile world with Exhibition entries travelling far and wide. Many unexpected opportunities have been reached with the embracing of what Jan thought would have been the unexpected. With this comes the need to monitor her "life management" around this regime to maintain her health needs and share these skills with others. "Our future is our own destiny" a philosophy Jan follows diligently.
