MS Australia – ACT/NSW/VIC together with the Heart Foundation, is delighted to announce the launch of the Heartmoves program for people living with MS.
Heartmoves is a low to moderate intensity exercise program and is open to everyone and is designed to be safe for people with stable long term health conditions such as cardiac, diabetic conditions or MS.

Arthritis ACT sponsor a number of exercise classes around town which cater for ambulatory and seated clients - costs apply and details may be obtained from them on (02) 6257 4842 Mon to Fri 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Gentle exercise designed to build muscle strength and improve flexibility. Suitable for all ages, people with arthritis and other muscoskeletal conditions, injury rehabilitation, etc.

Members may avail themselves of a massage therapy session at the MS Society once a month on a subsidised basis, subject to availability. Bookings are essential 02 6234 7000 and fees vary from time to time.
A mobile massage therapy service is also available to members who are in a nursing home and for eligible members who are house bound. Fees apply and bookings are essential.
For those working members who cannot come into the MS Society during working hours, arrangements may be made by the MS Society for a discount at a service privider of your choice. Please contact the MS Society on (02) 6234 7000 and someone will try and make that arrangement.
Every Thursday from 10.30am - 1.00pm. People with MS can come together to have a fun, non-competitive, game of bridge. Everybody is welcome. Why not come along and see how you like it?
MS Australia - ACT/ NSW/VIC has produced, through Mission Australia, an exercise video called 'The Daily Ten Movement for Life'. It features an interview with JoJo Azurin (Registered Fitness Instructor) and Kym Hirth (Registered Physiotherapist with over six years experience in working with people with MS), after which JoJo demonstrates the 'daily ten' exercises, and concludes with those same exercises being conducted in a group session at the MS Society.
This exercise video can be purchased from the MS Society at $15 (MS Society members $10) plus $5 postage to anywhere in Australia. Please contact us to place your order.
MS Australia - ACT/NSW/VIC is committed to improving access to quality physical activity and healthy living programs important to living well with MS. Wellness Days provide MS Australia with an opportunity to deliver a holistic, integrative message to motivate people to change behaviours through adopting healthy lifestyle options.
The focus is on the importance of physical activity, feeling connected, healthy eating habits, nutrition, relaxation, stress management and leisure pursuits. Included in the day is presentations from keynote speakers Dr Craig Hassed on the ‘ESSENCE of Managing MS’ and Sandy Davidson on ‘Nutrition to Nourish the Nervous System’, come and try activities such as strength training, massage, yoga, qi gong, meditation, stress management and tai chi from local providers in the community. The activities are designed for all abilities and you will be encouraged, but not pressured, to participate.
