MS Australia – ACT/NSW/VIC education and information sessions are held across the ACT, NSW and Victoria. You are welcome to access programs in any of our locations, regardless of where you live. Education and information sessions are also available to family members and carers and via teleconference. Teleconferences allow you to join a session via telephone from any location. Video conferencing and web streaming technology is also offered for some of our education programs.
Program details outlined in this document are current at the time of publishing; however, dates, times and venues may change. Please check details when you register. All programs are free of charge, unless indicated. Family members and friends are welcome to attend all programs and interpreters are available upon request.

Learn About MS
This program provides accurate information about multiple sclerosis (MS) and MS Australia - ACT/NSW/VIC services and programs.
Suited to those recently diagnosed with MS, their family members and friends, this program enables people to exchange ideas, ask questions and hear from a range of health professionals.
Working with MS (NSW and ACT)
Explore managing MS in the workplace; your rights and responsibilities at work, as well as super, insurance and finance matters.
Get Active with MS
This session is aimed at people with MS who are interested in exploring exercise and is lead by MS Australia – ACT/NSW/VIC physiotherapists and our health promotion team. You will receive advice about ways to get more physically active, increase fitness levels and build strength, as well as guidance to help you start a program that suits you.
Fatigue Self-management
This two-session program focuses on understanding and managing MS-related fatigue. It is presented by occupational therapists who will explain the nature of MS fatigue, why it occurs and what you can do to manage this invisible symptom. You will be able to exchange ideas and ask questions regarding strategies to manage fatigue and explore a range of topics including energy effectiveness techniques, diet, sleep, exercise and communication.

A two hour information session that provides an overview of MS fatigue and management strategies.
Continence Care in MS
In this session you will learn about bladder and bowel issues associated with MS and explore management strategies. The session will discuss: the causes of MS bladder and bowel problems; the importance of assessment; what to do about symptoms; treatments and where to go for assistance; and questions you may have about continence care.
Caring for Carers – Helping Hands Workshop
Do you care for someone with MS? We are celebrating Carers'
Week by offering a session for people who would like to discuss
issues around care-giving and also share ideas on self-care and
resilience. There will be a presentation, discussion and an
opportunity to meet other carers over light refreshments. If you
would like a little pampering, neck and shoulder massages will
also be available.
Maximising Your Memory
An educational program presented by Occupational Therapists
and Neuropsychologists to provide people with MS and their
carers with information and practical strategies on maximising
memory functioning. To get the most out of this session, we
recommend that you attend the "Thinking and Memory"
workshop on Thursday 18 August (see above).
